Allen conducted research by following some ‘cool kids’ from Junior School through their High School years and into their twenties. As young adults, the study group was struggling, turning to alcohol and drugs as well as some criminal activity. An early rush into “pseudo-mature” behavior had set them up for trouble. They had grown up too fast.
